Established in 1979, the UFPR Graduate Program in Botany aims to provide an academic background in several areas of Plant Biology. Although our program focus on scientific research, we also aim to form leaderships in higher education, and wise use of natural resources.
Having “Evolution and Plant Diversity” as a main topic, our program emphasizes on three main fields of botanical sciences: Ecology, Evolution and Systematics, and Morphology and Physiology. We offer 41 courses that allow the students to obtain a comprehensive and up-to-date formation in the current concepts and techniques of plant biology. Taking into account their personal and professional interests, students can also select the subjects that are most appropriate for their training. Besides theory and practical lab classes, we also offer special field courses on ecology and systematics.
Scholarships are available through Brazilian Funding Agencies (CNPQ, CAPES, and Fundação Araucária).
